New Year’s Ritual for 2024

My Focus for the New Year

I like to perform a special little New Year’s Ritual, and 2024 is going to be kind of a pivotal year for me, numerologically speaking. And I really dig numerology. 😉

I have this little ritual I do most nights. And last night was no exception.

There’s this digital tarot reading app installed on my Kindle Fire tablet, that I keep on my nightstand. And you might be thinking that an electronic app, like that, would be pointless. But actually, it’s pretty spot-on more often than not.

I mostly do it just for fun.

But the process does make me reflect on issues in my life and areas I want to improve. So, I find the practice pretty valuable.

I’m silly, I know…but I make myself wait until the clock ticks over the 12-midnight mark before I draw my Card of the Day for the coming day. It kind of sets the tone and mindset for what to focus on when I wake up the next morning.

Well, last night, New Year’s Eve 2023, as soon as the clock changed over to midnight I was ready and waiting. But this time, I was keeping in mind the thought that THIS Card of the Day will carry a special significance with it…it would represent the overall energy for the entire coming year ahead.

And with that in mind, I drew a card…

And this is what came up for me: The Magician

Which is SUPER COOL on so many levels.

First of all, it’s the number 1 card in the tarot deck. And arguably, the most powerful. Here are its keywords, meaning, and message:

Why will 2024 be especially impactful for me?

Well, let me break it down for you:

1. I was born in 1962 and I’ll be 62 years old on my birthday.
2. My birthday is on the 24th. In 2024.

So, that makes it kind of a double whammy for me.

And it has me thinking about where I want to put my energy going forward.

I’ve done a lot of things in my life. I’m passionate about so much, and I don’t like being confined to a single box or definition of who I am as a person.

However, I do recognize the need to get laser-focused to achieve mastery in a single area. So, that’s what I’m thinking about. I’m guessing when people think of me, they get a hodge-podge of images about what I do. When my name is mentioned, I doubt the listener goes, “Oh, yeah! She’s that….”

So, I want to do a better job of ‘branding’ myself so that people identify me with a specific thing.

I’ve MAINLY focused on my fiction writing and pyrography art for the last ten years or so. But I’ve also dabbled. Tried on other interests.

I’d like to combine several of my primary passions into a cohesive ‘theme’ that people will connect with me.

Magic, in general, I’ve decided (funny that The Magician came up AFTER I came to this conclusion) and my Scandinavian ancestry, in particular, can merge to create a brand and message that I identify with while also allowing me the latitude to incorporate other passions under that one umbrella theme, ie; beauty, food, traditions, art, etc.

So, expect to see that theme reflected in my website and other social media accounts in the coming months.
