Pyrography

In the summer of 1999, Jeff and I purchased 20 acres of bare land on Central Oregon’s High Desert. For a year and a half, we lived an off-grid lifestyle with our six kids, ages 6 – 16.
During that time, I taught myself the art of pyrography (burning art and lettering onto wood or leather.) I decided to focus on wood burning because it is an unusual hobby that most people have never heard of. That hobby turned into a small business. Eventually, I created a website called Portland Pyrography, and I spent many years serving my lovely clients, who lived mainly in Oregon.
When we moved to Texas in early 2022, I decided to drop the Portland Pyrography name to be less Oregon-based and instead offer my pyrography art under my own name.
Surprisingly, many of my clients have been those mourning a beloved family member or pet who has passed on. These dear clients hire me to handcraft unique memorial portraits with a tribute they can hang in their homes as a remembrance.
Likewise, many businesses and organizations have commissioned me to create rustic logo signs, employee recognition plaques, donor thank yous or other business art and decor needs.
My style is especially appealing to those seeking a rustic or handcrafted touch. Wedding guest sign-in boards are another popular item.
I can burn almost any art or lettering onto unfinished wood, vegetable-tanned leather, and other surfaces. Please Contact Me to inquire about your specific need or vision.
