Episode 12 – in this live reading from The Golden Telescope – Book One in my Jack and the Magic Hat Maker middle-grade fantasy series, I read Chapters Twenty-One – Auntie Inez and half of Twenty-Two – Realization.
In Chapter Twenty-One, we join Desmond Radcliff as he meets Ethan Mac Paidin and his adoptive parents, great uncle Thaddeus and great aunt Astrid O’Brien when they arrive at the airport in Stockholm, Sweden. We listen in as Ethan meets his aunts Clara and Inez and Inez spins her own story about why Arthur showed up in Ethan’s bedroom to take him away to Mac Paidin Manor in Dublin, Ireland.
In Chapter Twenty-Two, Jack arrives at Mac Paidin Manor with Arthur the butler, and learns that his grandfather Edward was forced through a portal by his daughter, and Jack’s aunt, Inez and her four armed thugs. Arthur reveals that Inez made it clear she intended to kill him, and that Arthur received a mysterious package in the post one week after Sir Edward’s disappearance confirming he was, in fact, gone.
