A Young Adult Dark Fantasy of Demons, Dragons, and Dark Magic — Jack Mac Paidin Series, Book 4

The Jack Mac Paidin series grows with its readers — Book 4 is recommended for ages 12 and up.

When worlds collide.

Lines are drawn in blood.

Not everyone makes it home.

Thirteen-year-old Jack Mac Paidin has fought dark magic before. But nothing could prepare him for what waits on the other side of a portal to Blarjord — a demon realm ruled by Queen Valdis, vampire demon queen and Jack’s most dangerous ancestor.

Jack’s older brother Ethan is deep inside Dod Festning — the death fortress — and running out of time. Seduced by Valdis’s promises of power, Ethan is completing three dark rituals that will transform him into a full demon and heir to her kingdom of darkness. Once the transformation is complete, there is no going back.

Jack and his best friend Bart Flanagan — an ordinary kid from Portland whose own magical legacy is only just beginning to surface — find themselves trapped within Valdis’s impenetrable mountain fortress, surrounded by vampires, dragons, orcs, and dark magic workers. And Ethan, now training as Valdis’s Dragon Master, is more than ready to remind his little brother who’s in charge.

Back at Mac Paidin Manor in Ireland, Sir Edward and Arthur discover the boys are missing. Lady Lydia — long lost, newly returned, and a native of Blarjord herself — knows Dod Festning better than anyone. She and a loyal band of old and new friends mount a desperate rescue across worlds.

But Jack’s own powers are growing dangerously inside the fortress walls. The dark forces surrounding him are whispering. And the closer he gets to saving Ethan, the more he wonders if he can save himself.
