Thinking About All The Things – April 5, 2021

I’ve Been Thinking About Writing Book Three: Ross and Faith a Lot Lately.
Thinking a lot, but not so much doing! I’ve set a release date for Summer 2021, and I am committed to meeting that deadline. But I’ve had a hard time digging into the story. Maybe it has something to do with my overall mindset due to Covid. Or possibly the long winter months filled with Pacific Northwest gray skies and gloom have been getting to me. I’m not sure.
I _have_ written some of the story. And I’m mulling it over in my head. Don’t get me wrong; this book IS going to be epic! With this third book, I’m stepping away from Jack, Bart, and some of the other familiar characters. And instead, the reader will be learning more about Ross, the kid’s dad, and Faith, their mother. But we are engaging with them when they are both twelve years old, the same age Jack is at the beginning of the story. And the age Ross is when his mother, Jack’s grandma Lydia, goes missing. We’re going to learn more about Ross’s childhood and about Inez and Clara’s youth, how all of them came into their powers, and the training they received. And we’re also going to meet Faith for the very first time. If you remember from Books One and Two, we had briefly interacted with Ross when he and Bill were getting ready to go on an outing collecting bugs.
But Until Book Three, We Haven’t Learned Anything at All About Faith.
Ok, no spoilers! Suffice it to say that Book Three: Ross and Faith will be filled with magic, mayhem, mystery…angels…demons…sorcery…and more! Digging in and putting my thoughts on ‘paper’ has been weighing heavily on my mind for a while now. I feel the pressure building…so, it’s almost cave time!
And…Yard Work!
It’s a beautiful day on the west side of Portland today. We have blue skies and sunshine, which is glorious! I decided to take a break away from my computer and head outside to do some yard work. I mowed the lawn and trimmed back all the old, dry blossoms leftover from last year’s blooms on our front bushes. It was time to make way for new growth, which is coming on fast and furious! Green buds have appeared all over our shrubs. The trees in the neighborhood are covered with blossoms that look like popcorn. It makes me think of that childhood song! 😉
Bonus! My cute neighbor struck up a conversation with me, and we ended up sitting on her front porch swing, just chatting together, for an hour or so. It was SO GREAT to be social! Neither of us was the least bit worried about the you-know-what. Ugh! It’s good to truly be neighbors with those who live on your street!
I’m Also Thinking About Mother’s Day Coming Up Next Month.
Amazing how time is just flying by! I can’t believe it’s been 5-1/2 years since my mother passed away. Every seven years, Mother’s Day would fall on her birthday, May 10th. So, May is a bitter-sweet month for me. My little mom loved AVON, and that’s one of the primary reasons I decided to become a rep after her death. That, plus the fact that I love their mission to empower women, along with their passion for beating breast cancer, the horrific disease that took her life. Since 1992, the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade has been at the forefront of the fight against breast cancer. So, Avon is a brand I can proudly stand behind!
There are some fantastic gift ideas for Mother’s Day over on MY AVON STORE, so you might want to check it out! I’ll bet most people don’t think about the fact that authors have to do something else to earn income while they’re waiting for their books to break out and make it big! In addition to my pyrography, I do some editing work, website design, affiliate marketing, and I’m an AVON rep. If you’re going to be shopping for products that AVON offers, I would love and appreciate it if you choose to buy from my store instead of Amazon or Costco, or some other major retailer. It really does make a difference!
Something Else I’m Thinking About
I’m delighted to report that I’ve lost 6 pounds in the last six weeks! I decided to return to a whole foods
plant-based (WFPB) diet, focusing heavily on raw plants, and I’ve finally blown through my weight-loss plateau! Yay! Feel free to CONTACT ME if you’d like to join me in a 30-Day or more challenge! I developed a program years ago, when I was publishing my Eighty Percent Raw online magazine, and what do you know? It still works! LOL! For years, I’ve been thinking all about the ‘quick fix’ when it comes to weight loss. I finally reached a point in my life where I realized it’d taken years for me to gain weight. It’s not going to magically melt off overnight. So, the (very achievable) goal I set for myself in the last weeks of February was to consistently lose just THREE POUNDS PER MONTH! If I can do that and stick with the same program for an entire year (at least! – I’m a terrible yo-yo dieter!), then, by year’s end, I will be very close to my goal weight.
And I’ve already beat my goal, so far! And I’m not feeling deprived AT ALL! Which is super important if you’re going to stick with a diet program. Technically, I wouldn’t need to have lost six pounds until Feb. 22nd. So, I’m pretty psyched about that! I just have to be patient,
And Freedom Came Up Today
I saw the following YouTube video posted by one of my Facebook friends today, and it captured my attention. I’m astonished by the worldwide decline in personal freedom in the last year. But I’m also encouraged by this Canadian pastor’s actions! I applaud him for his strength of character, his bravery, and knowledge of THE LAW, aware of the fact that those police were acting unlawfully and required a warrant to break into his church and disturb Easter (or any other) services. We need to see more acts of patriotism and bravery like this!
And That’s A Wrap!
It’s past dinner time. Jeff and I usually work, independently, all day long, then connect over dinner and a show in the evening. Both of us have been absorbed in our projects today, so I’m thinking we’ll be skipping the hang-out time tonight! But I’m ready to step away from this computer and opt for a change of venue.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope you found something of interest 😉 If you liked this post, you might like this one My Experience Going 100 Percent Raw

Until next time…be happy and blessed<3
